Patrick Warner’s florals and portraits are made in conversation with historical paintings of the Dutch Golden Age and French Impressionism. A long-time lover of Van Gogh, his current project began with Van Gogh’s sunflowers. Warner paints swiftly and confidently, presenting us with works in which paint’s material unruliness is foregrounded in heavy drips and liquidity. Born in Chicago, Patrick Warner lives in New Jersey and began painting at Studio Route 29 in 2024.
The Dreams of Small Animals imagines the inner lives of specific beings. What would it feel like to be a bird migrating through a storm, or a beetle navigating the forest undergrowth? How does the sensory world of a caterpillar differ from our own? A grouping of paintings arranged in a film sequence format describes the imagined dreams of each creature. The show also includes small sculptures, drawings, color studies, and field notes exploring the intimate stories and imagined languages of beings we often overlook.
In Synchronizing Uncertainty, Brian House explores the nature of individuality and belonging. This immersive exhibition invites visitors to experience the polyrhythmic process by welcoming them into a space populated with hundreds of electronic circuits generating periodic, oscillating signals — each simultaneously pulsing its distinct white light and synthesized sound. During the exhibition’s three-month span, the circuits will attempt to find an elusive equilibrium — ever-changing as visitors move through the space, forcing the system to renegotiate independence and synchronicity.

Composer, pianist, vocalist, and filmmaker Samora Pinderhughes will present a work-in-progress showing of I Hope This Finds You Well, a developing multidisciplinary music performance work which combines detailed compositional work with the participatory energy of a concert, the character-driven structure of theater, and the guiding principle of the chorus. The piece will amplify the testimonials of those harmed by incarceration, policing, and detention, imagining a world that supports vulnerability — an artistic celebration of resilience, repair, and resistance.
This showing is the culmination of Pinderhughes’ residency at ArtYard, a partnership of ArtYard and Pomegrante Arts. ArtYard is committed to supporting artists as they develop new work and inviting our community to experience groundbreaking art and to step inside the creative process. Join us in supporting creative incubation!
Join us for the opening reception to celebrate the opening of Onerva Luoma: Lead Me out of here (even if I Do not Know if such a Place Exists).
The exhibition consists of paintings made on clothes, which can be borrowed or “checked out” from the Laboratory Gallery.
The work explores what a meaningful relationship with clothing might look like in an environmental catastrophe and how we might see clothes as something more than commodities, objects to be bought and sold.
Onerva Luoma is a Helsinki-based artist and costume designer. The centerpiece of her work is play. For her, play means malleable rules, voluntariness, discovery through making and reflection, being enthused and inspired by mistakes, and being driven by a process without foreboding the outcome.
In Luoma’s work, play is intertwined with recycled materials. She does not want to dominate the material, but cooperate with it, sometimes even to the point of herself being dominated by it, because she believes that this is the only way to disclose the radically new. Recurring themes in Luoma’s work include characterhood, chaos, outsiderness, girlhood, and tensions between impulse and control.
Meet the artist, check out the clothing, and be among the first to check out your favorite piece.

Lily Talmers writes of the innate divinity in humanity from a palpably Midwestern vantage. Her lyrics are spiritual and strange — vivid images that range from sludge-covered and dismal to childlike and wondrous. Every song on It Is Cyclical, Missing You was recorded live in one continuous take, often with a full band in tow, produced by Talmers herself. Lily Talmers has seen praise from NPR, No Depression, Under The Radar, and The Bluegrass Situation among others. She won the Kerrville Folk Festival’s 2024 New Folk Competition and has opened for the likes of Tommy Emmanuel, The Brother Brothers, and Anna Tivel.
