Bastille Day: Before Bed Films

  • 15 Jul 2023
  • 8:00 PM
  • ArtYard Creekside Residency, 50 Trenton Ave, Frenchtown

Bring a picnic and your blanket to ArtYard’s Creekside Residency at 8 PM on Saturday, July 15 for a free family movie night to cap off Frenchtown’s Bastille Day.

Join us under the tent to screen Porch Pirates, a short film made by Frenchtown's own Tyler Wallach starring local residents, followed by Ratatouille, an animated film about a rat who can cook that makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous Paris restaurant.

Porch Pirates is a modern day swashbuckling, Peter Pan adventure about an uncle’s quest to track down a band of infamous porch pirates who stole his nephew's birthday present.

The films begin at dusk.

ArtYard’s Creekside Residency is 50 Trenton Avenue. Creekside Residency lawn is a short walk on the towpath from parking lots at ArtYard Workshop, 62A Trenton Ave., or ArtYard Center, 13 Front St.

Bastille Day is an annual event in Frenchtown sponsored by the Frenchtown Business Association inspired by the tale of Frenchtown’s founder escaping the guillotine and making his way to America. Bastille Day is the national day of France, which is celebrated on July 14th each year. In French, it is formally called la Fête nationale, "The National Celebration" and le 14 juillet.

Festivities in downtown Frenchtown, from 11 AM to 7 PM, include a roving Marie Antoinette, live music, a scavenger hunt, Bastille Day menu items at local eateries, and more. Visit lovefrenchtown.org for more information.

RSVP is requested. Donations are welcome.
