“Why Aaron Burr Didn't Come Here (The Long Answer) and Other Stories... If There's Time"
by Frenchtown Borough Historian Rick Epstein
There's a legend that Aaron Burr and his daughter visited Frenchtown in 1804, on the run from shooting Alexander Hamilton. But it didn't happen, even though Frenchtown's founder Paul Henri Mallet-Prevost was the nephew of Burr's wife's first husband. Got that? Rick will explain why the 1804 visit never happened.
That's unlikely to take up an hour, so Rick has two true Frenchtown stories from the 1920s in reserve.
“Austin Pendleton's Last Day at the Bank” and “The Chillness of Bessie Hoff.”
(Full disclosure: We made up Vice Presidents Day)
