Join us for a Christmastime poetry reading by four award-winning Scottish poets, and enjoy Scottish desserts and tea. 
 

You are invited to share a warm Bookshop evening of Scottish poetry and holiday specialties. The poets: 

• Colin Herd is the author of six books of poetry and articles on art and literary criticism. He is a lecturer in creative writing at the University of Glasgow. "Poetry International," in naming him one of Europe's most "amazing young poets," described his work as "effusive in its grace and ease of motion."  
• Maria Sledmere is an artist, professor, poet, and editor whose eclectic interests range from poetry to literary theory, technology, and pop music, and  span more than twenty books. She teaches at the University of Scrathclyde. 
• Jane Goldman teaches Avant-Garde Poetics at the University of Glasgow and publishes widely on modernism, the avant-garde, and Virginia Woolf. Her first full length poetry collection, "Sekxphrastics," is described by poet Lila Matsumoto as "gorgeous, gleaming, and irrepressible."
• Iain Morrison is a poet, performance artist, and a musician from the Outer Hebrides, whose award-winning rural folk draws comparisons to the music of Neil Young.  His debut poetry collection, "I'm A Pretty Circler," is described by poet Jow Walton as "made out of music." 

The poets will read from and sign their books. Free and all are welcome.
