Dayna Kurtz in Concert

The Sunday Music Club welcomes the boundless jazz/soul/blues dynamo for a window-rattling concert. 

I n her own words, New Orleans-by-way-of-New Jersey belter Dayna Kurtz is not one to use only two of the crayons in the box. So, her dynamic performances can include rockabilly, Cajun waltzes, and covers of obscure 1930's jazz and blues. Dayna's "whiskeyed alto" (All Music Guide) ranges from a "deep, husky croon" to a "full-throttle roar" (Boston Globe) and recall the singing of Nina Simone. Her songwriting won her the Songwriter of the Year award from the National Academy of Songwriters.
