Join Anne Choi of Middle Brook Fiberworks for a hands-on introduction
to the beautiful world of botanical dyeing, created especially for yarn and fiber lovers at Wool located on Race Street in Frenchtown.

In this three-hour workshop, Anne will introduce us to the basics of natural dyeing, from understanding how color bonds with fiber to choosing and harvesting plants that produce lasting results. We’ll talk about growing a dye garden of your own, gathering dyestuffs responsibly in the wild, and preparing wool and other natural fibers for the dye pot. Then we’ll get our hands in the color. Through a combination of demonstration and experimentation, we’ll explore solar dyeing, immersion dyeing, and botanical eco-printing, discovering how different plants, techniques, and fibers can produce wonderfully varied results.

Each participant will leave with naturally dyed yarn and fabric swatches, along with the knowledge and inspiration to begin experimenting with botanical color at home.
